Every year I hear from many businesses telling me that they have not closed their Fiscal Year. Their are many reasons presented, but the most common is for posting audit entries.

I get it, audit entries happen... but why reinvent your reports and struggle with balances brought forward?

There is an option in GP that allows for posting to history. Posting to history is pretty cool. It allows for entries to be posted to the most recently closed fiscal year. What is cool about this? It's simple... the entries posted automatically create clearing/retained earning entries! Did I say automatically? It's true! Check it out!
