Since Microsoft has apparently stopped updating the source control features of Dexterity to work with anything newer than Visual Studio 2013, I thought I would share the steps to make it work with newer versions of Visual Studio (works at least through VS 2019).

  1. Install the desired version of Visual Studio.
  2. Connect source control to your repository.
  3. Edit the created workspace so that it is a "Server" workspace (the default is "Local").
  4. Navigate to the local appdata folder for Team Foundation (i.e. C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Team Foundation).
  5. Copy the version-specific file (e.g. like "8.0" for Visual Studio 2019) so that you have one called "5.0").
  6. Configure Dexterity to connect as per normal.

You also need to have Visual Studio 2013 or Visual Studio 2012 installed.
